What is it about lighthouses that captures our imagination? It is probably the romanticized idea of living on an isolated island and being responsible for keeping the light burning to save all those souls at sea. Just like the lighthouse keeper makes sure that the light never goes out, so too do we have a choice to keep love alive within ourselves, through the storms and gales and sleet and snow. When we have experienced love through all its phases and temperate weather do we realize the immense capacity a human heart can hold. Love shines a light in our darkest hours and always leads us home.

Awesome Yew
Dimensions (H x W x D):

Medium:

Acrylic on canvas and mixed media

Special Features:

Shells, rocks and organic matter give this painting a 2-dimensional appearance.

The yew tree symbolizes immortality and everlasting life, rebirth, changes and regeneration after difficult times. Because of it's massive size and strong wood it is also considered a tree of protection. Even when a tree is cut down the wood is still alive and has the ability to swell in wet weather and dry-out with the sun. We too, as human beings are also in this constant state of change, expanding and contracting and re-creating ourselves moment by moment. How awesome is that?!

Flying high in the sky in a hot air balloon is one of the many 'natural' highs one can experience when out in nature. It is quiet and peaceful yet exhilarating and exciting all at the same time. It makes our hearts fly high and our spirits soar free. We can find this 'Freedom', wherever we find the feeling of Joy because Joy always has upward momentum. So what are you waiting for? The Road to Antelope Canyon
Dimensions (H x W x D):

30 x 24 x 2 in.

Medium:

Acrylic on canvas

Special Features:

There is real Antelope Canon sand affixed to the painting.

I had the good fortune to visit Antelope Canyon in Arizona in 2015 and was awestruck at its beauty. These deep Navajo sandstone slots were carved into the earth by flash flooding during the monsoon seasons and display a plethora of colours. Depending on the light and the time of day the sun will play with the different hues ranging from red to deep orange, purple, gold, brown and galaxy. It is almost impossible to take a "bad" photo as you point your camera up through the canyon towards the sky. On this day our path was bathed in gold as I took this picture. One can just imagine how the Antelope roamed and played to their hearts content.

Two of a Kind

The original photo of this painting was taken in Maui at the Tropical Plantation. I only got one shot of these beautiful creatures and was lucky enough that it was in perfect focus. The iridescent green was just as brilliant that day as you see it in this painting. They almost look like they are 'mirroring' one another. Two of a kind.
